The SensaHeat Heat Pump Relay Controller is the perfect and easiest solution for plugging in Sensaheat heat pumps into spa control systems such as Balboa, Spanet, Gecko/Aeware* and other systems that normally have a 230V heater element built-in.

This kit allows you to control your heat pump via your standard spa touchpad. 

Compatible with all Sensaheat PI & ES heat pumps.

Note: As of October 2023 the unit has changed and has a 240V relay rather than the box as old photos show. Relay must be placed in a protected place by your electrician.

Basic Instructions:

1. Disconnect heater element in your spa controller.
2. Connect Active & Neutral to the spa controller heater terminals.
3. Plug Relay Controller into Heat pump. Plug 5-6 on PI & ES (later models). For Older ES models, bridge into DIN1 wire loop.
4. Set temperature on heat pump to 40°.
5. Control heat pump via spa's standard touchpad.

Note that some Gecko/Aeware control systems need a 'dummy' load. You can leave heater element connected in these situations, or your electrician can connect a dummy load to the element such as a light transformer, etc.
